STUDENT BANKING PROGRAM

Vigilant Federal Savings Bank is committed to meeting the needs of our community.

In our effort to support the children of our community we have developed a student banking program that we hope will encourage the students to save money and to teach them the basics of banking.

Accounts may be opened at our branch located at 532 Eastern Blvd., Baltimore MD 21221, or at any participating school on the scheduled banking day.

FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2009/2010

A representative from Vigilant Federal Savings Bank will be at your Back to School night for any parents that would like to open accounts that night.

I will be at the schools at the listed dates and times.

2nd Tuesday of month         Hawthorne Elem. At 8:40am.                
                                                   Essex Elem. At 9:30am.

               
3rd Tuesday of month     Chase Elem. 8:40am.
                                           

2nd Wednesday of month   Sussex Elem. 8:40am.
                                                   Colgate Elem. 9:30am.

3rd Wednesday of month    Orems Elem. 8:40am.
                                                   Middlesex Elem. 9:20am.

2nd Thursday of month    Sandalwood Elem. 8:45am.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Vigilant Federal, in an effort to support our schools, and encourage our children to be good students and responsible learners, announces a “scholarship program” for local elementary schools.

As part of our commitment to the community, Vigilant Federal will award four $250.00 scholarships to students attending local area elementary schools. The criteria for the recipient are outlined in the attached application.

We believe that the students who are excelling in school now should be recognized and encouraged to continue achieving great things. Since understanding and respecting finances are part of becoming a productive citizen, we would like to contribute to their success with these awards.

Update

We would like to thank all the students who applied for the scholarship. Also, we want to encourage their continued concentrated efforts learning as they enter Middle School.

Vigilant awarded a $250.00 scholarship to the following schools:

Essex Elementary - 4 Students

St Clare's - 1 Student

Each student was presented the award by Vigilant Federal representatives at their respective Farewell assemblies.
