STUDENT BANKING PROGRAM

Vigilant Federal Savings Bank is committed to meeting the needs of our community.

In our effort to support the children of our community we have developed a student banking program that we hope will encourage the students to save money and to teach them the basics of banking.

Accounts may be opened at our branch located at 532 Eastern Blvd., Baltimore MD 21221, or at any participating school on the scheduled banking day.

VIGILANT FEDERAL STUDENT BANKING SCHEDULE
FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2010/2011

A representative from Vigilant Federal Savings Bank will be at your Back to School night for any parents that would like to open accounts that night.

I will be at the schools at the listed dates and times.

2nd Tuesday of month         Essex Elem at 9:30am               
                                                

               
3rd Tuesday of month     Middlesex Elem at 8:40am
                                           

2nd Wednesday of month   Sussex Elem at 8:40am.

                                               
3rd Wednesday of month    Orems Elem at 8:40am
                                                  

2nd Thursday of month    Sandalwood Elem at 8:45am

The April schedule is a week early because of Spring Break.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Vigilant Federal, in an effort to support our schools, and encourage our children to be good students and responsible learners, announces a “scholarship program” for local elementary schools.

As part of our commitment to the community, Vigilant Federal will award four $250.00 scholarships to students attending local area elementary schools. The criteria for the recipient are outlined in the attached application.

We are asking that you submit the applications for consideration by April 30, 2010. Our committee will review all submissions and notify the school administrator representing the selected recipients by May 28, 2010.

We believe that the students who are excelling in school now should be recognized and encouraged to continue achieving great things. Since understanding and respecting finances are part of becoming a productive citizen, we would like to contribute to their success with these awards.

Update

We would like to thank all the students who applied for the 2010 scholarship. Also, we want to encourage their continued concentrated efforts learning as they enter Middle School.

Vigilant awarded a $250.00 scholarship to the following schools:

Essex Elementary - 1 Student

Mars Estates - 2 Students

Sandalwood - 1 Student

Chase -  2 Students

Each student was presented the award by Vigilant Federal representatives at their respective Farewell assemblies.
